A Green Country child facing a big challenge. C.J.Oden needs a heart transplant, and he's getting ready for a life-saving surgery next month.
Walmart and the Broken Arrow community showed their support for C.J. and his family Wednesday, August 30. Walmart brought a caravan 16 of their big trucks to the send-off at 3900 East Hillside Drive.
C.J. was very excited, his mom said, because trucks are one of his favorite things. There were also classic cars and other special vehicles in the procession.
The Pride of Broken Arrow marching band played, and there was a balloon launch in honor of C.J.
Walmart representative Johnny McDaniel said their drivers look forward to helping families and the community at events like these.
His parents said they cannot thank Walmart or the community enough for the support and love. But C.J. said it best:
"Thank you for coming," the 4-year-old boy said.
