Disc Golf Store Sees Success In Tulsa

Disc golf is one of America's fastest-growing sports.

Tulsa has a large and active disc golf community, and a new Tulsa store will help them get all the gear they need.

Basketcase Disc Golf has been open about three months.

Discs are everywhere.

"This is just our used section," said Kevin Cox. "Every one of these is a different disc manufacturer"

The store has different types and materials, all designed to perform a particular way.

It ain't just throwing a Frisbee at a basket.

It's more like traditional golf, except, Cox said, "it is one that everyone can afford and everybody can play."

You can play in any kind of weather, but are there enough players here to support a store like this?

"We have over 3,100 members on our Tulsa Disc Golf Facebook page," Cox said.

Places to play include a list of parks with disc courses.

Most all are in Tulsa County, and all are free.

You can get into disc golf for about $50. A starter set of discs and a bag to carry them in.
