Single-Engine Plane Lands In Field Near Tahlequah Airport

Four people escaped injury after their plane landed just short of the runway in Tahlequah.

An official at the airport says the single-engine plane, a Piper Malibu Mirage registered in Carrolltown, Texas, was on its way from Joplin to Dallas when it developed engine trouble.

They estimated the pilot glided up to eight miles and landed in a field just south of the airport.
