A Savanna police officer was arrested Tuesday in connection with an investigation into a January sexual assault during a traffic stop.
Jerry “Jay” Lynn Gragg, Jr., 40, was arrested by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation on four complaints including forcible sodomy, sexual battery and an officer accepting a bribe.
The OSBI says the complaints stemmed from allegations related to a January 21, 2017 traffic stop.
In their release, the OSBI says a woman was stopped by Gragg for driving with a suspended license. Jerry Gragg told the woman he would take her to jail unless she could pay the fine in full.
The release says when the woman told Gragg she didn't have enough money, he began making sexual advances toward her. He is also accused of sexually assaulting her.
The OSBI says after the incident, the woman spoke with friends and her pastor and came forward with the allegations. She also gave authorities the blouse she wore that day.
Investigators say a stain on that blouse matched Jerry Gragg's DNA. Gragg had submitted his DNA during an interview with agents when he denied all allegations.
Gragg was booked into the Pittsburg County jail.
