Trump Announces U.S. Attorney Candidate Nominations

President Donald Trump announced his nominations for United States Attorney in a news release Monday.

The candidates share Trump's vision for “Making America Safe Again," the release states. The candidates include:

  • D. Michael Dunavant, of Tennessee, would serve as the United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee.
  • Louis V. Franklin, Sr., of Alabama, would serve as the United States Attorney for the Middle District of Alabama.
  • Justin E. Herdman, of Ohio, would serve as the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio.
  • John W. Huber, of Utah, would serve as the United States Attorney for the District of Utah.
  • Brian J. Kuester, of Oklahoma, would serve as the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
  • Jessie K. Liu, of Virginia, would serve as the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia.
  • Richard W. Moore, of Alabama, would serve as the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama.
  • Jay E. Town, of Alabama, would serve as the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama.

Congressman Markwayne Mullin (OK-2) supported Trump’s nomination of Kuester in a news release Monday, saying, “President Trump made an excellent choice in nominating Brian Kuester as the Eastern District of Oklahoma’s next U.S. Attorney," the release states. “I worked closely with Brian when he was the District Attorney for Adair, Cherokee, Sequoyah, and Wagoner counties and I am confident he will serve the people of Eastern Oklahoma with the same high ethical and moral standards in his new role."
