The two were found shot to death at a midtown Tulsa apartment complex. The murders were the first Tulsa cases featured on the A&E crime show ‘First 48.’
According to online court records, Ashton's appeal contended he was denied his constitutional rights to present a complete defense, that "prosecutorial misconduct" deprived him of a fair trial, that he was denied a fair trial and he also challenged the effectiveness of his counsel at trial.
The judge in the appeal case affirmed Ashton's sentences and denied his appeal.
