Seven cats and a dog were killed in a Tulsa house fire Wednesday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to a home near 36th and South Harvard just before 2:00 p.m. When they arrived, firefighters saw black smoke pouring out of the home.
One bedroom was totally involved and filled the rest of the home, Captain Stan May said.
May said there were eight cats and a dog inside the home – seven of the cats and the dog were killed. One cat was taken to the vet.
The residents were not in the home at the time and were not injured.
May said the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
