A Tulsa man may never be able to see out of his left eye again after he went out of his way to help someone in need.

Roy Dunn and his fiancée, Jeridawn, were at the Hard Rock Casino when someone asked them for help. They didn't think twice, but now they wish they had.

"It's kind of, you know, making me queasy remembering all of it, but I'm okay," Dunn said.

Saturday morning, while enjoying a band and playing slots, Dunn and his fiancée were approached by a woman crying, saying her husband had left her at the casino.

"You know, we felt really bad for her so I told her, 'Don't worry.' I bought us all something to eat and we ate and everything and I said, 'I'll just give you a ride home. We're not going to leave you here. We're going to take you home,’” Dunn said.

The couple drove the woman back to her house on Keetonville Road near Highway 266, but when they got to her driveway they saw a bright light coming toward them.

"That's when my driver’s side window exploded and my face felt as if it was on fire," he said.

Roger County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Brian Tisdell, the woman's husband, for assault with a dangerous weapon.

Tisdell told Rogers County Sheriff's Deputies he accidentally hit the car window with a rock, but Dunn's injuries say otherwise.

Doctors say even after multiple surgeries to remove shards of glass from his head and retina, Dunn still may never see out of his left eye again.

But Dunn said the incident won't change him or his desire to do good.

"Just for the record, because of this incident, I'm not going to lose my compassion for people, I'm gonna love people no matter what," Dunn said.

If you'd like to help, Dunn's coworkers have created a Go Fund Me page to help with medical expenses. You can donate here.

Tisdell bonded out of the Rogers County Jail Sunday.
