Bartlesville Police Investigate Murder-Suicide

Bartlesville Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide at a home in the 1400 block of southwest Maple, according to Bartlesville Police Capt. Jay Hastings.

BPD received a phone call at about 2:15 p.m. from a relative who witnessed the incident, Hastings wrote in an email to media. Police arrived at the home and found two dead adults, according to Hastings. 

BPD said they believe the two people found dead are husband and wife. OSBI is on the scene with detectives. 

Police said that the incident was a domestic violence situation and the wife tried to leave the home and a fight ensued between her and her husband. Shots were fired and both the man and woman died at the scene, BPD said.

The woman's 15-year-year-old son was in the home when the shots were fired, police said.

Names are not being released yet as authorities continue to investigate.
