The State Board of Education passed an emergency order to suspend Sapulpa teacher Megan Sloan's teaching certificate Thursday, May 25, News On 6 has learned.
Sloan was arrested on drug and embezzlement complaints Monday, May 1, 2017, at Holmes Park Elementary. According to court records, Sloan had up to 40 syringes in her purse as well as black tar heroin and methamphetamine.
She was also using a school computer to post on social media about using and selling heroin as well as pawning items that belonged to the school to pay for drugs, an affidavit states.
Sloan now faces five charges, including drug possession in the presence of a minor, child neglect, two counts of embezzlement and possession of drug paraphernalia. The neglect charge is for the students in her class.
She is due back in court Friday, May 26.
