A 30-year-old Claremore man charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of his father waived his preliminary hearing in a Rogers County courtroom this week.

Brian Benedict is accused of killing Jim Benedict inside a Verdigris home on March 6, 2017, then running off.

After a manhunt, deputies arrested Brian Benedict.

He was also charged with unlawful removal of a dead body, attempting to destroy evidence and obstructing officers.

Court records show Benedict's next hearing in the case is set for July 6th.
