A Tulsa woman pleaded guilty to permitting child abuse in the death of her baby daughter in 2015.

Nevaeh Brookens-Roldan died on her first birthday, December 3, 2015, two days after emergency services received a call about a child in distress at an apartment complex near West 61st and Union.

Hallelujah Brookens pleaded guilty on Monday, May 22, 2017. The judge gave her a five-year deferred sentence

Police said her boyfriend, Nathaniel Watkins, was watching the girl on December 1, 2015 when she was badly injured. He pleaded guilty to violently shaking the baby and a judge sentenced him to life without parole.
