Tulsa Auction Item Looks Like Pipe Bomb To Buyer

A homeowner called out the Tulsa Bomb Squad to check out a couple of suspicious devices. The man says he bought some boxes at a storage auction, and when he got home to open them, he saw what looked like a pipe bomb inside.

The bomb squad checked the devices out and says they are not explosives.

Sergeant Jacob Thompson said they used the robot try to open it up using water.

"We also took an X-ray of it," he said. "There's a possibility it was a hoax device."
