A man is now behind bars in Rogers County after being on the run for five years. Investigators found Terry Moore just outside Kansas City this week after tracking him for years.
Investigators say Moore failed to register as a sex offender while he lived in Rogers County five years ago. They say he has avoided law enforcement since then - bouncing around from place to place in Oklahoma and then to Louisiana and Kansas.
Investigator Daniel Welch has been on Moore's trail for three years now.
"We've been working on this pretty diligently for the last few years and to finally get him in jail and apprehended and off the streets is pretty rewarding," Welch said.
"Anyone who absconds the registration, obviously tries to avoid law enforcement is obviously a safety risk to the public."
Moore is a sex offender because of a conviction in Texas for sexual contact with a child. He is being held in Rogers County Jail.
