Eucha Dam Flood Gates Open, Residents Below Dam Urged To Evacuate

A large amount of water is currently being released from the Eucha Dam after two floodgates were opened, officials said. 

If the lake goes up another half a foot, the third gate will be opened halfway, said a City of Tulsa spokesperson. 

The City of Tulsa is releasing the water from Lake Eucha to Spavinaw, and highways 20 and 82 have been closed due to the flooding.

The Delaware County Sheriff issued a warning on Facebook urging residents who live south of the dam to evacuate to higher ground immediately.

Mayes County Emergency Management is monitoring the situation.
