Police say a five-year-old was treated for non-life threatening injuries after running in front of a car near a Broken Arrow bus stop Wednesday morning.
Officer James Koch said it happened in the 6200 block of East Commercial Street around 8 a.m.
Koch said the child had just gotten out of a car when a southbound driver struck the child.
After being told by the child's parent to leave, the driver stopped a short distance away and called the police.
Police said the child admitted he didn't look at traffic before running into the street. They said the driver admitted his attention was diverted due to a line of children heading to the bus stop and was slowing down when the five-year-old ran in front of his vehicle.
Police said the driver was not cited.
