Foggy conditions are believed to have contributed to a fatal crash near Owasso Tuesday morning. Emergency crews were called to the wreck around 7:45 a.m. on 86th Street North between Highway 11 and Highway 75.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol's collision report states a 2011 Mitsubishi Galant collided head-on with a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado in the eastbound lane on 86th Street North for an unknown reason.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, Justin Brummett of Sand Springs, was traveling westbound and the driver of the Chevrolet, Austin Crawford of Sperry, was driving eastbound on 86th Street North.

Brummett, 24, was pinned for an unknown amount of time before being rescued by the Sperry Fire Department, troopers said. He was transported by the Owasso Fire Department to a Tulsa hospital where his condition is said to be stable. He has arm and leg injuries, the report states.

Crawford, 19, was ejected an unknown distance. He was transported by EMSA to a Tulsa hospital where he later died, troopers said.

Brummett was wearing a seatbelt, Crawford was not, the collision report shows.

In the report, troopers also noted the foggy conditions.

The collision is still under investigation and has been reassigned to an OHP traffic homicide unit.

Troopers kept the road closed as the injury crash was investigated. It reopened shortly after 11 a.m.
