One person is dead and another is in custody after a Tulsa shooting Tuesday evening.

The suspect in Tulsa's 80th homicide of 2016 is identified as 27-year-old Andrew McGee.

Police responded to the 1400 block of West Admiral around 6 p.m. When officers arrived they found a man shot in the chest outside his home.

The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died.

"When officers arrived, EMSA and fire were already working on a white male, 34 to 35 years old that had been shot once in the abdomen, he was lying next to the road on the sidewalk," said Corporal Jack Ritter with Tulsa police.

Just before 10 p.m., police took McGee into custody in connection with the shooting. They said TPD's fugitive unit tracked McGee down from a cell phone left at the scene.

He was booked into the Tulsa County jail on a complaint of first-degree murder.  Jail records show he is being held without bond.

Police said they think the McGee and victim may have known each other but they aren’t sure how.

The name of the victim has not been released.
