Two drivers crashed into power poles in midtown Tulsa, causing some traffic slow downs during the morning commute.
Tulsa police said a man told them he fell asleep before crashing into a pole at 21st and Yale around 8:30 a.m. He said he woke up just in time to see himself heading into the pole but couldn't evade it.
He hit the pole hard enough to snap it in two, and it was hanging from power lines.
He wasn't hurt, according to authorities at the scene. Crews closed off one lane of northbound traffic.
Earlier Tuesday morning, a car was discovered crashed into a pole on Yale at 36th Street. The car had been there for some time when it was found Tuesday morning around 6 a.m.
That pole was also snapped in two, and the driver had left the area.
Public Service of Oklahoma crews said it will take some time to replace the poles. We haven't heard of power outages related to the collisions.
