A two-story house is burned to the ground just west of Skiatook Sunday morning, December 11, 2016. The house and about 15 acres surrounding it burned near Highway 20 and 71st West Avenue.
The call came in just before midnight, but fire officials say the house was likely burning for 30 minutes before an Osage County deputy noticed it.
Skiatook's Fire Marshall is just glad everyone is okay after fighting such a big fire.
"The best case scenario that I can relay is the fact that we didn't have any of our firefighters hurt, cause this is pretty extreme terrain we are working in on the back side of this hill," said Fire Marshall Robert Nail, City of Skiatook.
Twenty-two firefighters from five different departments fought the flames.
Firefighters said the house was in the process of being renovated, so no one was there when the fire started. The home was destroyed.
