B.A. Police Officer Dies In Motorcycle Crash

A Broken Arrow police officer was killed in a motorcycle crash in Coweta Saturday afternoon.

Coweta Police Chief Mike Bell says the wreck happened on Highway 51 near 111th Street South just before 3 p.m. 

A 1997 white Chevy pickup was involved in the crash with the 2014 Kawasaki motorcycle driven by the off-duty officer, police say.

The man driving the pickup was not injured nor transported to a hospital by EMS. 

The officer driving the motorcycle suffered several injuries and was transported by Coweta EMS to a local hospital for treatment. He was pronounced dead at 7:30 p.m.

Police are still waiting to notify next of kin before releasing the name of the officer who died.

The body of the officer has been moved from the hospital to the medical examiner's office in Tulsa, according to police.

Tulsa Police Department dispatch says Tulsa Police helped escort the body to the medical examiner’s office.
