A Tulsa family and their pets are safe after their home caught fire late Friday.
At about 11:45 p.m. the fire department was called to the home in the 1300 block of South Winston. Firefighters arrived to find flames and smoke coming from the home's garage.
They said two adults, two teens and three dogs were inside the home when the fire broke out in the garage, but were able to get out.
Firefighters were able to knock down the fire rather quickly, but say this time of year is busy for the fire department.
"As the temperatures start to get cooler, we do have more and more citizens turning on their heaters for the first time in the winter season, so we may have a few more calls than normal," said Firefighter Chris Weisberg.
The fire department says the family has had to find someplace else to stay.
Cause of the fire remains under investigation.
