A few showers are possible as we head into the evening hours, most of which will be well southeast of Tulsa.
As this storm system pushes southeast of the area, a cold front will plunge southward into the area by Tuesday. This will be chilly air, but not of Arctic origin.
Nonetheless, it will be a blustery day with lots of cloud cover.
Wednesday brings the arrival of Arctic air to Green Country. The coldest conditions since January will settle into the region. Wind chill values will initially fall into the 20s on Wednesday, the teens that evening and even the single digits by Thursday morning in some areas.
In addition to this big temperature plunge, we have a chance of a light wintry mix on Wednesday. Temperatures may hold above freezing, but a few areas of light snow showers or freezing drizzle, especially north of Tulsa can't be ruled out.
Snow accumulations, if any, will be light (generally a dusting) and confined to areas mainly northeast of Tulsa. Few travel issues are expected at this point.
We'll continue to update this forecast information as we get closer to midweek!
