Police Release Victim's Name In Fatal Tulsa Stabbing

Police have identified the victim in a fatal stabbing early Friday at a west Tulsa apartment complex and made an arrest. 

Tahmachqua Floyd, 24, died at a Tulsa hospital.  

Sgt. Dave Walker says they've arrested 24-year-old Montoyia Corbitt on a first-degree manslaughter complaint.

He says Corbitt called police just before 3:30 a.m. saying she had stabbed Floyd in self defense.  Walker says witnesses told investigators an argument between Corbitt and Floyd had led to the stabbing at an apartment in the 2700 block of South Maybelle.  

Sgt. Walker says they learned  Tahmachqua Floyd was apparently moving out of her apartment and Montoyia Corbitt was helping her with the move.

Floyd is Tulsa's 72nd homicide of 2016.

Corbitt was booked into the Tulsa County jail.  Jail records show she has a court appearance set for December 9th.of next of kin
