It was a foggy and frosty start to our weekend before a sunny warm-up as we head into the rest of our Saturday!

Areas of dense fog caused some problems early Saturday across eastern Oklahoma through the mid-morning, with visibilities well under a half mile possible.

Weather Alerts

That fog eventually lifted and sunny skies coupled with a return of a south breeze are helping thaw out northeast Oklahoma nicely by the afternoon. High temperatures look to reach the low 60s across eastern Oklahoma, making for very pleasant weather to enjoy for the second half of our Saturday.

That south wind will begin to steadily increase later tonight as a strong storm system approaches from the west. Those increasing winds will keep our overnight lows much warmer than the previous few nights, as we’ll likely only drop to the upper 40s by early Sunday morning. High temperatures Sunday afternoon look to hold steady in the low 60s once again, and south winds could gust anywhere from 30 to 40 miles per hour by late Sunday!

The approaching storm system will help clouds thicken up considerably late tonight into Sunday as well, and a few scattered showers will be possible by the late afternoon hours Sunday across northeastern Oklahoma. Scattered showers and a few embedded storms will continue to be a possibility Sunday night into early Monday morning, with the best chance of storms shifting east of Tulsa into extreme eastern & southeastern Oklahoma on Monday.

The noticeably milder weather of Sunday and Monday will be replaced with another shot of chilly air by the middle of next week as colder air settles back into much of the country as we begin December.
