TPD Releases Dashcam Footage Of Fatal Standoff

The Tulsa Police Department released dashcam video showing the end of a tense standoff that took place last month near 41st and 177th East Avenue.

A special operations officer shot and killed a man as he stood on a balcony holding a gun to a 2-year-old's head.

Officers say it started when Salvador Reyes barged into the home of his estranged wife and her family.

Everyone got out except the 2-year-old girl.

After police tried to coax Reyes out for three hours, the video shows him stepping out on the front balcony, armed with a gun, aiming it at both the little girl and officers.

That's when a special operations officer took one shot and killed him.

The officer is on paid leave as TPD investigates.
