How sweet it is to have fall weather finally sticking around! We’re in store for another beautiful Sunday to wrap up our weekend, but rain chances are looming to start the work week.

After sunnier skies for the first half of our Sunday, clouds are expected to increase during the second half of the day as a storm system approaches from the west. Winds will once again remain light throughout the day with another day of very pleasant conditions.

Afternoon temperatures will be a couple degrees cooler than what we had on Saturday, with afternoon highs closer to the 70-degree mark in most locations. It’ll be another picture perfect day to get outside – the only bummer is our sunsets are quite early now thanks to Daylight Saving Time ending last night!

A few showers may begin to move into our far western counties west of Tulsa late in the day, particularly after sunset and into tonight, but they will struggle to reach the ground at first with very dry air in place. The much better chance of scattered showers and a few storms continues to show up beginning early Monday morning across eastern Oklahoma as an upper-level storm system kick outs across the Southern Plains.

Several periods of off-and-on showers and embedded storms will shift across eastern Oklahoma throughout the morning and afternoon Monday. Plan for somewhat of a dreary day on Monday, with temperatures struggling to get out of the upper 50s to low 60s for most of the day! It won’t be an all-day washout on Monday, and unfortunately rainfall amounts will be fairly light in most locations, but some lucky folks could pick up over a half inch of rain.

Some areas of drizzle may persist into at least the first half of Election Day Tuesday, so you may still have somewhat damp conditions to deal with as you head out to vote. As we get past Election Day, we are trending toward a brief warm-up during the mid to late week time frame before another front trends our temperatures back closer to “normal” conditions for early November by next weekend. Enjoy this comfortable fall weather while we’ve got it!
