A car theft in Creek County ended with a pursuit that left a teenager dead.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said two 15-year-old girls were in the stolen car, then, ran from troopers and crashed.
The car’s owner, Steve Keeton, says, in this case, everyone is a victim.
On a Wednesday night, the parking lot at Canyon Road Baptist Church is pretty busy.
“Lots of cars, lots of activity,” Keeton said. “We haven't ever had any problems, so didn't expect it.”
Keeton spends his Wednesday evenings at the church; and while inside for choir practice, someone outside stole his Cadillac. He said it happened sometime between 6:15 and 7:15.
“It's unbelievable,” he said. “People thought maybe I was angry, I wasn't angry. You just kind of feel a little defiled.”
Late Wednesday night, Keeton learned his car had been found - it had crashed along 33rd West Avenue, not far from the church.
Thursday morning, Keeton learned two 15-year-old girls were inside his car when it crashed.

And while Keeton was the initial victim, once the car crashed, he said the list of victims grew.
The teenaged driver didn't make it and the other 15-year-old girl was thrown from the car but survived.
Keeton said even though the girls made some bad decisions, they’re victims too, along with those who knew and loved them.
“It's a tragedy,” he said. “Our heart goes out. Our church is praying for the families.”
OHP said a Creek County deputy spotted Keeton's car about an hour after it was reported stolen. Troopers said the deputy tried to pull the car over but it wouldn't stop.
OHP said the driver eventually lost control and the car slammed into several trees before flipping, taking the life of the teenaged driver, whose life had barely started.
“We've all made bad decisions in our life...just some have far greater consequences,” Keeton said. “Who knows what her future could have held, ya know.”
Law enforcement hasn’t released the names of the girls.
The crash and theft are still under investigation.
