Okemah Woman Hits School Bus While Trying To Avoid Coyote

Three people, including two students, suffered minor injuries Thursday morning when an Okemah woman went left of center trying to avoid hitting a coyote and hit a school bus carrying 20 students in Okfuskee County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said. 

A 2011 Jeep Liberty, driven by Tracy Prim, 46, was traveling east on Mason Road in Okfuskee County at about 7:40 a.m. when she swerved to miss a coyote on the road and went left of center, colliding with a Mason School bus, according to the OHP.

The bus was carrying 20 students to school when the collision happened, troopers said. 

The bus was driven by Nathan Williamson, 30, of Okemah, according to the report. 

Prim was transported to an Okemah hospital where she was treated and released with minor arm and head injuries, the OHP said.

Two students on the bus complained of minor arm and leg injuries, but troopers said they were transported to school and would seek treatment at a later time.
