Tulsa police officers arrested a man after they say he held a woman at gunpoint then got into a standoff with police for more than seven hours.

Police booked Daniel Hood for several crimes, including kidnapping and gun complaints.

A woman called police Sunday night to say Hood had held her hostage at gunpoint before she escaped.

Police got to the home near 15th and Yale and during the next five hours, three people come out safely.

About two hours later, police said they fired pepper balls and bean bags into the house around 7:20 a.m. and Hood surrendered.

Sergeant Mark Ohnesorge said, "Someone who does something like this, points a weapon, holds someone at gunpoint, they are a dangerous person to not only their friends but to the general public."

The arrest report says Hood head-butted the victim and threatened to kill her boyfriend.
