Jury Convicts Man Of Killing Woman In Downtown Tulsa

A jury convicted a man Friday afternoon of killing a woman in downtown Tulsa in 2015.

The jury recommended life without parole for Hao Le in the murder of 19-year-old Cristal Gutierrez. She was shot as she rode in a car with her boyfriend in April of 2015.

Witnesses said Gutierrez and her boyfriend were on Houston Street when someone in another car fired three or four shots into their car. Her boyfriend was not hurt and told police he believed Le was involved because of problems they'd had in the past.

Another defendant, Rey Reyes, is in custody and awaiting trial.

Le was 18 at the time of the shooting, so was Reyes.
