Three Children Killed In LeFlore County Fire

Three children are dead after an early morning house fire in Arkoma Wednesday, October 19, 2016. Arkoma is in LeFlore County near the Arkansas border.

CBS-affiliate KFSM reports three juveniles were killed when a mobile home burned,.The police chief said the fire started around 4 a.m.

Police said the mother was at home but couldn't get to the children. They said she had to be hospitalized.

Firefighters told KFSM a family friend was also at the home when the fire broke out. A neighbor told the station the fire started on the front porch.

The state medical examiner arrived from Tulsa and will be taking the bodies back for further examination. The state fire marshall was called in from Sallisaw.

KFSM said the mobile home is located on Lowry Street.. The names and ages of the children have not been released.
