A Tulsa woman is in the hospital after being shot in the leg Monday while she and her husband were walking on a trail in an east Tulsa park, TPD said.
The shooting happened at about 11:30 a.m. at Norberg Park at 3135 South Garnett Road.
The victim's injuries are non-life-threatening and she is expected to be okay, police said.
Police are currently investigating and said they planned to talk to neighbors who live near the park.
A City of Tulsa employee was nearby taking a lunch break after mowing grass in the park and told police he heard 'ping' sounds and thinks the shooter may have been aiming for him, police said.
Sergeant Terry Maurer said, "The city employee think they might have been shooting at his tractor just parked there. The victim behind the tractor there."
TPD doesn't know what kind of gun was used, but according to the victim's husband, he said he thinks it could be a pellet gun or a .22 rifle.
