Woodland Hills Mall is stepping up to help in the fight against breast cancer.
Woodland Hills Mall, along with more than 180 Simon properties, has pledged to donate $1M each year for the next two years to go toward breast cancer research.
Today Susan G Komen Tulsa hosted a Fashion Show, and all of the models were breast cancer survivors.
The event was to help get the word out about Komen and to raise awareness for breast cancer research all while showing off some of the latest fall fashions from some of the shops inside Woodland Hills Mall.
The women who walked the catwalk say it was all about celebrating their victories while letting others know they can survive too.
“They can do it. They can survive. They can beat it,” said breast cancer survivor,” Lisa Rogers. “Just take it one day at a time. I always find something to be thankful for each day and relying on your faith, and accept help from others. I just wanted to show others that they can do it. It strengthened my faith. Showed me how much I love all my friends and family, and showed me what it looks like to really rely on God.”
In honor of breast cancer awareness month the mall will encourage employees, retailers and shoppers to make a bigger, bolder impact in the fight against breast cancer by participating in the mall "More That Pink" Movement which will include activities throughout October.
