A mail truck driver was taken to the hospital after crashing his delivery truck into a Tulsa yard Wednesday morning, October 12, 2016.
The large truck hit a power pole, crashed through a residential fence and into a yard near Yale and Admiral. The nose of the truck hit the corner of a house but does not appear to have done a lot of damage to the residence.
Tulsa emergency crews responded to the 100 block of North Darlington around 7:15 a.m.
The driver appears to have escaped serious injury though he looked shaken up. He was taken to the hospital after giving a "thumbs up."
The power pole snapped knocking out power to a handful of customers. Public Service of Oklahoma says the power has now been restored to the nine customers.
A fire captain on scene said the driver may have swerved to avoid a cat. One of Tulsa's firefighters took a child from the house to school while the truck was blocking their car from leaving.
