Berryhill Blue And Gold Brigade won the Class 3A State Oklahoma Bandmasters Association Championship in Moore over the weekend. It's the 13th straight year the marching band has earned that title.

Director Fred Alonzi said this year's show is called "Pulling Strings" and tells the story of a puppet coming to life. Songs include "Pure Imaginations," "The Sorcerer's Apprentice," and Coldplay's "Fix You."

Band and color guard members move like puppets during part of the show.

The 60-member band will perform "Pulling Strings" before the football game then crown their king and queen at halftime Friday night, October 15, 2016.

Band booster Brandy Moton said the community came out to wish the Brigade well on their say to the state championship, and the fire department guided the school bus out of town.

"Last year we graduated a lot of seniors, and this year we have a very young band," Moton said. "Although we have won this consecutively for 13 years, this year we fought harder than I’ve ever seen them fight to keep that title."

Alex Jones and Carol Hilborn are assistant directors, and Jarred Carey directs the color guard. Alexis Green is color guard tech.
