A Muskogee boy is recovering after doctors successfully reattached a portion of his skull.

About a year ago we told you about then 1-year old Gunner Asher.

He underwent emergency brain surgery where doctors removed a piece of his skull to relieve pressure. 

The child's mother's boyfriend is in jail charged with hurting him.

Here's cell phone video the child's aunt shared with us today of Gunner.

Doctors reattached the preserved piece of his skull but had to add a dissolvable plate to finish the job.

Family members said he's doing well.
