Dozens of veterans left Tulsa International Airport on a special honor flight Wednesday morning.

The honor flight is taking 71 World War II, Korean and Vietnam veterans to Washington D.C.

Police, the Highway Patrol and Patriot Guard riders escorted the veterans from their hotel to the airport Wednesday morning.

Ten of the men on the flight are over 90 years old. Tulsa Airports tweeted a photo of the veterans and their guardians preparing to board the flight and the picture is attached to this story.

The public is encouraged to help welcome the veterans home at Wednesday night at 9:15 when their flight returns.
