Murder Suspect Arrested In Sand Springs

Police have made an arrested in the shooting death of a Mannford man. Richard Dylan Vawter was arrested in the death of 61-year-old Ronald "Rocky" Bethel.

Bethel was found shot to death outside his home September 20, 2016.

"OSBI special agents conducted numerous interviews and developed a suspect," the agency announced. Vawter, 34, was taken into custody Sunday night by members of the Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes Task Force. They arrested him near the intersection of 41st and Highway 97 in Sand Springs, the release states.

Vawter is in Creek County Jail on a $5 million bond.
