The Tulsa football team bounced back this week with a 58-21 win over North Carolina A&T.
The Golden Hurricane took the field and stole a quick 3-0 lead when Redford Jones nailed a 25-yard field goal just minutes into the game.
TU elevated its score soon after with a short rush from James Flanders.
Leading 10-0, Tulsa set the game tone with its quick start.
Kolton Shindeler helped the Golden Hurricane take a 17-0 lead with a pick six. At this point, Tulsa looked good on both sides of the ball, taking advantage of each possession.
An interception after Shindeler’s score gave the Golden Hurricane another opportunity another chance to capitalize offensively.
And that’s just what they did.
A 51-yard score from Keevan Lucas knocked the Aggies to a 24-0 deficit and made the game harder to watch for N.C. A&T fans.
Another touchdown pass from Dane Evans to Lucas made it a 31-0 game. The 13-yard touchdown capped an 11-play 59-yard drive.

More touchdowns from Flanders and Lucas and another field goal by Jones helped TU lock in a big 48-0 lead going into halftime.
Entering the third, Evans was 18-2 with 257 yards and three touchdowns. Lucas had four catches, recorded 119 yards and two touchdowns. And Flanders went 31 yards and two scores. As a whole, TU led the Aggies in total yards (343-123).
Jones recorded his third field goal in the third to help TU further N.C. A&T’s deficit, 51-0. The Golden Hurricane made it an even uglier game after when they took a 58-0 lead with 2:46 left in the third quarter.
The Aggies finally showed some life, getting on the board with a 75-yard scoring pass with 1:19 left before the final quarter.
N.C. A&T posted seven more to open the fourth quarter after Jones missed a 44-yard attempt. But 14 points weren’t enough to threaten TU’s 58.
The Aggies fought until the end, but Tulsa prevailed with a big 58-21 win, helping the Golden Hurricane improve to 2-1 on the season.
TU finished with 493 total yards. Evans was 19-29-1, and Hobbs and Lucas both tallied over 100 yards.
