A Tulsa man says burglars broke into his home, took his TV and other electronics, but said it’s the sentimental items they took that he wants back.
Brandon Dudley was uneasy about going on camera - he thinks other people have much bigger problems.
"You know, the TV and stuff, you can go to the store and get another one," he said.
Dudley said burglars broke in through an unlocked window, and by the time he got home and realized it, it was too late.
He said someone stole his television and computer while he was at work.
Dudley said those things can be replaced, but the burglars also stole a box of memories from his time in Iraq.
Dudley served for a year overseas in the Army in 2011. He said inside the box were letters from family and photographs of him with fellow soldiers.
"They took it, but inside, I mean it's not end-of-the-world stuff, just some awards and medals, coins," he said.
Dudley is trying to keep a sense of humor about the whole thing.
Dudley: "They were nice enough to close it back behind them, though. And they shut the door, so I didn't lose out on AC."
Annie: "How sweet."
Dudley: "Yeah, I know. Good ole' boys."
But it's clear the time Dudley spent serving his nation is still important to him, and he wants the relics of that time returned.
"You can keep the TV, and the computer and all that jive, I just want that box back and everything that was in it," he said.
Dudley did contact police and is working to file a report.
