Union Public Schools is responding to threats of violence at the 6th and 7th grade center Wednesday. Some parents say they are upset they didn't get more information from the school.
School is in session at the 6th and 7th Grade Center, and on the school's homepage, they confirmed the administration is aware of a threatening message sent via SnapChat Tuesday night.
School officials said they've investigated and haven't found any evidence to support it.
The Facebook post through which many parents found out about the threat came Tuesday night from a woman who says she learned of the school shooting threat on SnapChat from her 7th grader. In the comments that followed, it's clear several parents are upset at the administration for not communicating more info about the threat and what was being done to handle it.
Aside from saying there's no evidence to support the rumor, a district spokeswoman also told us the administration discussed the issues with some of the parents on the board.
The school system has a "safe number" parents can call if they have concerns in the future: 918-505-9802.
