Balloons Fill Tulsa Sky For Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

More than 100 gold balloons brightened the Tulsa skyline Thursday night to kick off Childhood Cancer Awareness month.

One of the organizers said she knows firsthand what it's like to have a child suffering cancer. Brandi Phillips her 2-year-old boy, Pierce, in 2009.

"We want to keep his memory alive and honor the kids that are still fighting, and the kids that yet to be diagnosed," she said.

The Phillips have raised thousands of dollars to fund pediatric cancer research through the Pierce Phillips Foundation.
