No. 3 OU Shifts Focus To Season Opener Against No. 15 Houston

Some fans are bracing for a shootout when the Sooners take on the Cougars in Houston.

Cougars head coach Tom Herman is adopting a “kill ‘em with kindness” approach leading up to kickoff.

"This is Bob Stoops. This is Oklahoma. They have recruited at a very elite level, top five, top ten classes every year. They're one of, if not the best, coaching staffs in the country especially when it comes to defensive football,” said Herman. “Much like playing Florida State, they're going to be better from an athletic standpoint top to bottom than we are. It's going to take our A game and then some with some purpose driven players to be able to compete."

No.3 OU and No. 15 Houston will face-off Saturday at 11 a.m. at NRG Stadium, the home of the Houston Texans.
