The state financial crisis affecting Oklahoma schools is putting limitations on several programs.
But Oklahomans are pulling together to help each other out.
The Edison High School band won’t be able to travel to any away football games because it’s so expensive.
But for one week, help is coming from one of the school's rivals.
Edison will head just down the street to face Bishop Kelley on Friday, and the private Catholic school will send a bus to Edison to bring the band.
“The idea is, we are educating and giving them experiences,” said Lance Parks, Bishop Kelley Athletic Director. “And that leaves our walls and includes theirs. We want their kids to have an experience that is tremendous as well and that includes marching in the band on Friday nights."
The band will play before the game, which kicks off at 7 p.m. Friday night.
