Hilldale Public Schools submitted a petition Friday to recount one of its bond measures that came up one vote shy of passing on Tuesday.

School board officials asked voters to approve two bond measures for new classrooms, facility improvements and new buses.

The bond item for new buses fell short by one vote.

Because of the narrow margin of the ballots cast for and against the bond, the district is challenging the results and asking the election board for a recount.

The Muskogee Election Board says the recount will happen on Tuesday.
