The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a woman walking on a Tulsa highway early Thursday died after she was hit by a truck.
Troopers said the accident happened at 4 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 244 just west of the Highway 169 interchange.
The truck, which was carrying molasses from Nowata to Stillwater, stopped a short distance away. The OHP reports the woman was walking in a westbound lane of the highway when she was struck.
She's been identified as Suzanne E. Goldsmith, a 55-year-old Tulsa woman.
EMSA took Goldsmith to a Tulsa hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Troopers closed the westbound on-ramp from Highway 169 to I-244 for about an hour while they investigated the accident scene.
