The Sooners may insist they aren't looking past Houston, but many are anticipating their Week 3 home matchup against Ohio State Sept. 17.
"We're past ready, man," said Sooner wide receiver Dede Westbrook. "We're ready for whoever they put in front of us. We're competing with one another. We're just ready."
OU offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley added, "Part of me wishes we had more time, and part of me wishes we were playing tomorrow. I have a lot of confidence in this group, but as a coach, you always deep down inside want to continue to prepare and work out the kinks. But we're getting close to being ready to play."
The Buckeyes open at home against Bowling Green Sept. 3 then host Tulsa Sept. 10 before their trip south. Head Coach Urban Meyer is pretty happy with his team’s progress in practice.
"I don't know how good we are, but the attitudes are good,” said Meyer. “Usually, I don't feel this. I won't say feel good but I just like coaching this team. They're very hungry; they're anxious to learn and get better and our last week has been good."
