Tulsa city councilor Jack Henderson spent Tuesday evening listening to community members at a District 1 town hall meeting.

Every three months, Henderson welcomes people from his district to the Rudisill Library on North Hartford to hear their concerns.

The order of the meeting is put together based on hot item complaints from citizens. Tuesday’s meeting touched on police, street and park improvements.

Jack Henderson hopes meetings like that help improve the relationship between city leaders and the public.

"Once we can communicate better we can understand each other better. Once we understand each other better you have a better community, and that's what works and we don't' want to change it," Jack Henderson said.

The next District 1 town hall meeting is scheduled for early November.
