4-Year-Old Boy Dies After Drowning Incident In Delaware County

Authorities said a 4-year-old Locust Grove boy is dead after a drowning incident near Lake Eucha in rural Delaware County. Delaware County Sheriff Harlan Moore said Braven Simmons was swimming and jumping off the low water bridge on South 524 Road and 423 Road just north of the mouth of the lake.

Braven went missing after being at the creek with his family for about two hours, according to a release. The mother's boyfriend found him under water, under the the bridge. Jeremy Pullen started CPR on the boy until emergency responders arrived on scene.

The child was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he was placed on life support, but the sheriff said he never showed signs of brain activity. He was taken off life support on Friday and passed away, the release states.

A joint investigation is underway by the Delaware County Sheriff's Office and the Oklahoma Department of Human Services.
